REBECCA NICOSIA
Rebecca’s journey into yoga began over a decade ago when she discovered its profound impact on her physical and mental well-being. "Yoga has become an essential part of my life. Living with chronic pain, I spent years searching for relief. The more I integrated yoga asanas and breathwork into my routine, the more I found relief—not just in my body but also in my mind. I’m so excited to share these benefits with you and hope to see you on the mat!"
Motivated by her personal transformation, Rebecca pursued formal training, becoming a 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) in 2021. Her passion for learning didn’t stop there; she continued her studies to achieve her 500-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 500) certification, deepening her knowledge and expanding her ability to teach various styles. Her dedication to helping others on their journeys toward self-discovery and healing is unwavering, and she is currently pursuing certification as a Children’s Yoga Instructor.
In 2022, Rebecca founded My Essential Yoga, offering a diverse range of classes including Yin, Vinyasa, Hatha, and Chair Yoga, both in person and online. Rebecca’s approach extends beyond the physical, tapping into the mental and emotional benefits of yoga. Her classes blend easy-to-follow instructions, thoughtful modifications, and a wealth of knowledge, making each session a transformative and inclusive experience for all.

Arrive 10-15 minutes before the start of class. Arriving early allows time to fill out an intake form, set up your space and time to settle in. It also prevents rushing and disrupting the start of class.
Wear comfy, but snug clothing to keep you covered as we move through our poses. No need to buy fancy new yoga clothes!
Bring a mat and additional props if desired (such as pillow, bolster, blanket, blocks or straps). We do have extra if you don't have any of these items.
We recommend you don't eat an hour before class and you are encouraged to bring water
Registration is required at the Vestal location due to limited space. Registration for the Endicott site is strongly encouraged.
It's ok to be nervous about your first class! Many students are. Rebecca is happy to connect with you prior to class to answer any questions or just to get to know her. Your comfort is our priority!
