REBECCA NICOSIA
Rebecca’s journey into yoga began over a decade ago when she discovered its profound impact on her physical and mental well-being. "Yoga has become an essential part of my life. Living with chronic pain, I spent years searching for relief. The more I integrated yoga asanas and breathwork into my routine, the more I found relief—not just in my body but also in my mind. I’m so excited to share these benefits with you and hope to see you on the mat!"
Motivated by her personal transformation, Rebecca pursued formal training, becoming a 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) in 2021. Her passion for learning didn’t stop there; she continued her studies to achieve her 500-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 500) certification, deepening her knowledge and expanding her ability to teach various styles. Her dedication to helping others on their journeys toward self-discovery and healing is unwavering, and she is currently pursuing certification as a Children’s Yoga Instructor.
In 2022, Rebecca founded My Essential Yoga, offering a diverse range of classes including Yin, Vinyasa, Hatha, and Chair Yoga, both in person and online. Rebecca’s approach extends beyond the physical, tapping into the mental and emotional benefits of yoga. Her classes blend easy-to-follow instructions, thoughtful modifications, and a wealth of knowledge, making each session a transformative and inclusive experience for all.

My Essential Yoga offers weekly classes throughout the Broome and Tioga community. Classes that are open to the general public are offered at the below locations.
Classes are also available online via Zoom. See SCHEDULE for online offerings.

"So, where do I begin? I’m a bigger kind of girl here, so, exercise can be very challenging. That being said I gave it a try. Rebecca didn’t take it easy on me however, her style of teaching makes you comfortable with what your body CAN do. Rebecca’s teaching is 💯 well rounded and doable for even the broken. I highly recommend you give it a chance. Start with the slo classes if you have fear, and then maybe, maybe not, work up to her more challenging classes. You won’t be disappointed. “If you don’t invest in your health and wellness now, you will invest in your sickness later!” This stuff is kinda fun!"

"This was my first in-person yoga class. It was amazing! My yoga class was not about exercise alone, it was about getting in-tune with your body, mind and soul. She explains the moves, offers modifications and the class is overall inviting. I was so happy with my first experience that I bought a package deal and am eager to see what each class has to offer!!"
-Michele C.
"Went to my first class yesterday and it was amazing. Very in tune with her class and it was a calming experience! ❤ super grounding & definitely worth doing for some me time!"

"It was my first time doing a in person class and I am so happy I took my yoga journey out of my house and into such a welcoming environment! The instructor is easy to follow and kind. I can't say enough good things, it's definitely such a relaxing and empowering experience. I can't wait for the next class!""

"I just don't know what I would do without My Essential Yoga. Not only am I doing something wonderful for my physical health, but also my mental health. I'm very grateful to have found this community."

"Recently a friend and I have tried different yoga classes around the area, this class is hands down the best one that we have been to especially for beginners!"
-April K.
""My boyfriend Steven and I got to experience Rebecca and David’s Partner Yoga last night, and it was the most hilarious, heartwarming and bonding workout we’ve been able to do. I would absolutely recommend reserving a spot for your next yoga class!! Thanks so much you guys!""
-Madeline H.
"I absolutely love Rebecca and her Yoga classes! They are fun and Rebecca is such a good teacher! Better than any that I have had. She goes slow when you need it and she let's you decide for yourself how far to push it when you want to. She suggests themes which make you think and that help you drop into your heart space. I am so glad that I found her."

Arrive 10-15 minutes before the start of class. Arriving early allows time to fill out an intake form, set up your space and time to settle in. It also prevents rushing and disrupting the start of class.
Wear comfy, but snug clothing to keep you covered as we move through our poses. No need to buy fancy new yoga clothes!
Bring a mat and additional props if desired (such as pillow, bolster, blanket, blocks or straps). We do have extra if you don't have any of these items.
We recommend you don't eat an hour before class and you are encouraged to bring water
Registration is required at the Vestal location due to limited space. Registration for the Endicott site is strongly encouraged.
It's ok to be nervous about your first class! Many students are. Rebecca is happy to connect with you prior to class to answer any questions or just to get to know her. Your comfort is our priority!
